How Adobe Express is Poised to Empower Entrepreneurship Students at Redeemer’s University
The story of Redeemer’s University’s adoption of Adobe Express began at the Association of African Universities (AAU) Conference in Morocco in late July, 2025. It was there that the Learning Curve team first met university representatives, planting the seeds of a partnership that would bear fruit a few months later.
Redeemer’s University (RUN), located in Ede, Osun State, Nigeria, is a private institution committed to academic excellence, innovation, and character formation, aiming to mould a new generation of African leaders and global change-agents. For RUN, credibility mattered. Through ongoing conversations and follow-up meetings, the university gained confidence that Learning Curve could be a trusted partner in digital transformation, and not simply a software reseller.
By October, RUN had committed to bringing Adobe Express to 1,500 students in its Entrepreneurship and Innovation module, making it one of Nigeria’s most forward-thinking higher education adopters of Adobe’s creativity tools. The university’s vision emphasises that its graduates will be Technologically prepared for the future through a curriculum that integrates digital literacy, creativity, and entrepreneurial skills.
Bringing Digital Creativity into Entrepreneurship Education
At RUN, entrepreneurship is considered a hands-on way of dealing with real community challenges. Not every university has an entrepreneurship programme, much less one as well-thought-out as Redeemers’. Students engage in practical projects such as beadwork, cake making, textile production, and small-scale farming, documenting their journey from concept to market.
As confirmed by the African Development Bank, SMEs account for over 90% of businesses and almost 80% of employment across Africa. Therefore, it makes sense that hands-on, community-rooted entrepreneurship training directly strengthens local livelihoods.
Mr Johnson, one of the university’s lecturers who participated in Learning Curve’s Professional Development Series on Digital Fluency, expects that the impact on students who use software such as Adobe Express will be immediate – “With these tools, I believe they will be market-ready even before graduation.”
Why the Learning Curve Approach Worked
The decisive factor in RUN’s decision was the hands-on demonstration during Learning Curve’s workshops. As an Adobe Platinum Reseller, Learning Curve continually strives to demonstrate the value that can be derived from market-leading tools like Adobe Express.
While training on the professional development series, Mr Johnson witnessed firsthand how students could produce tangible, professional-quality outputs in minutes, with logos, presentations, and social media posts that looked ready for market. The hands-on training on Adobe tools also aligned with key outcomes of the Entrepreneurship module, and showed how students would be able to pitch business ideas, create service-based side hustles, develop podcasting and video creation skills for monetisation, and produce TED-style talks and community project videos for YouTube.
What’s more, Mr Johnson was pleasantly surprised that Adobe tools were mobile-friendly, something that on-the-go students would certainly appreciate. This mobile accessibility of Adobe Express would also make a significant difference for students with limited device access: “The moment I realised it is mobile-friendly — that was my ‘aha’ moment.”
Building Digital Fluency and Confidence
Through structured microcredential training and continuous professional development, faculty members at institutions across Africa are gaining the skills to guide students in applying Adobe Express for personal branding, storytelling, and digital marketing. Reflecting on his experience, Mr Johnson shared, “I realised how easy it is to carry out some tasks without breaking a sweat.”
Looking forward, Mr Johnson envisions how his own training experience could impact students preparing for the real world, adding, “We plan to train interested final-year students to get them market-ready.”
A Model for Entrepreneurship Education in Africa
The RUN partnership shows how accessible creativity tools like Adobe Express can take entrepreneurship education to the next level. By helping students showcase their ideas, brand their businesses, and promote community-based projects, Learning Curve and Adobe are equipping a new generation of African entrepreneurs to thrive in a digital economy.
As Nigeria continues to champion youth entrepreneurship and innovation, the RUN programme is an excellent example of how higher education can bridge the gap between vocational skills, digital literacy, and employability.
The success at RUN proves that when easy-to-use creative tools can reach a broad base of young and hungry minds, then digital transformation will surely follow. As witnessed in the professional development programme, students can move from concept to creation in mere months, building brands, stories, and a social media presence that will serve them long after graduation. By integrating Adobe Express into RUN’s entrepreneurship education, Learning Curve is helping institutions turn digital tools into engines of opportunity, preparing students to think like creators, not just consumers.
Every institution in Africa can take the same leap. Partner with Learning Curve to bring Adobe’s creativity and AI-powered tools to your classrooms, and empower your students to innovate, communicate, and compete on a global stage.
